Are you worried about coronavirus & livery?

Sorry to bring up the dreaded word on here...

Just stressing a bit that if we were all made to isolate or lock down, what would become of ponies on livery? Grass liveries would be ok. But what about those who are stabled, with fields unsuitable to stay out in 24/7?

The feed merchant had amazing bio security set up, with a plastic tunnel leading to a hatch where you ordered. Could not go inside front office/shop. It is a huge operation. I think the tunnel could be disinfected. The went through BSE, etc so have learned.
Then I had to drive 45 mi to drop off. I felt very conflicted about this, but DH on specialised feed, I had a long discussion with the merchant, but no easy/affordable way to get it to yard. I only have to buy about 1x a month, perhaps by then we won’t be on lock down - crossing fingers

Thanks Fivefour We went to see him and he was near the fence so we were able to nip over for five minutes and give him a mint and a cuddle. DD and I were sobbing and he was focused on munching grass Grin

We won't risk going back again as I don't want to take unncessary risks for the yard, DD or myself. I know he is in good hands and being well cared for, and I worry that seeing him from afar might be harder for DD. We are normally there for at least a couple of hours each afternoon so I did feel strange yesterday and wasn't sure what to do with myself. I might order a bale of straw, move it around the garden a lot and sweep up odd strands just to feel normal Grin

A lady at our yard is making a big deal about exercising horse out, walking dog and then going for a long run as are all ‘allowed’ so she’s doing them and plastering all over social media. I’ve had a word with her as I think it just looks so bad to vulnerable people etc, makes us all look bad here.
