Horse or a baby or both?

Hi, I hope this is posted under the right topic.
This is going to be a bit long winded though so the essences is,
should I get a horse or a baby? Or both at kinda the same time?

The background is I moved to Wales about a year a go, I have a full time job where I do 12h shifts (about 3 a week on average). Me and my husband is renting but plan is to buy house and then a car. We are both 30, so we feel like if we want to have a kid we need to start trying, but I want a horse also. I have always wanted a horse, I've done everything from part loans to full loans so I know horses are time consuming. But at the same time I feel like a horse doesn't visit you at the nursing home and I potentially could get one when the kids get older. But at the same time I feel like I dont want to postpone it any longer.

So what do I do? Get horse and start trying for a baby?
Post phone getting a horse or a baby?
Sorry it seems like such a trivial thing but it is constantly spinning around in my head and making me go loopy!

Don’t do both, children are very expensive and time consuming, no guarantee they will look after you in your old age. Horses more enjoyment, less work limiting, they can be in a field whilst you are at work.

Baby.
You can get a horse when you are older but not a baby. Do it now. Good luck.

I think have some lessons whilst trying for a baby if that is what you really want.

You make the assumption that getting pregnant and keeping a pregnancy is very straightforward - this is not always the case.

I did not ride in all 7 pregnancies as soon as I found out i was pregnant. I only have 2 children.

Being blase about riding for 9 months on any horse let alone a new horse is at best naive and foolish at worst!

I dont know why you need to decide now how old your baby would be when you can get a horse lol. If you want the baby have a baby and see how things go and then decide. If your debating one or the other personally, i wouldn't so anything yet, take more time to think a baby changes everything you need to be sure.

Baby first 🚼. In the meantime riding lessons or refresher adult riding camp example and you never know it might be all Rose tinted glasses 🦄and not for you now or ignite your flame / relight your fire🔥 Grin
