Children’s riding boots with wider ankles

Can anyone recommend any please?

I can’t remember the brand she’s got at the moment - just generic tack shop brand I think.

The foot bit fits fine, the leg bit fits fine but it’s a struggle getting the zip past her ankle. They’re too tight where the knobbly bit on your ankle is

Thanks!

My son is disabled and has problems getting his boots on so he usually has the zipped ones (and long boots are completely out of the question) but I was looking for a cheap pair of boots for him as he'd outgrown his suddenly (as boys do!) and saw these www.decathlon.co.uk/classic-black-leather-boots-id_8206478.html. It said they have wider elastic so are easier to get on so I thought they were worth a try. We are so pleased with them. They go on easily as promised but are not loose once on. The first time he wore them two people came up to ask where we got them as they looked so nice! They are sturdy and seem to be wearing very well although he does only ride once a week.

I have these in adult size 7 (I’m usually a 7.5) and agree the larger elastic panel makes them easier to get on and off - especially once the elastic eases up a bit after a few wears - and probably a good choice for a wider (within reason) ankle. Good quality for the price, too.

To look at, they’re not quite trad enough for my tastes but I’ve just seen Decathlon do matching half chaps for £18 which would improve matters.

I dream of buckle-fastening Herring or Schnieder jodh boots one day, but for now I’d rather spend the money on riding Grin
