Christmas presents for horse mad girls

Hi

My daughters are horse mad and I'm looking for some ideas for Christmas presents. Would love to get something like
mini-jumps.co.uk
As they are always making jumps in the garden but they are really expensive.
Does anyone know of anything similar but cheaper?
Or any other ideas?
They are 9 and 7. Have all the usual riding gear. And we don't own horse. Just do lessons once or twice a week and camps during holidays

Thanks!

A quick google on "dog agility equipment" produced this www.wayfair.co.uk/home/hd0/pet-agility-obedience-training-set-l3394-k~pwht1132.html?refid=GX190833676994-PWHT1132&device=c&ptid=325990445735&targetid=pla-325990445735&network=g&gclid=CjwKCAiAt4rfBRBKEiwAC678KX5F8pO2EiAcOQ1PbTWAdX9Jxvd7Sc80ULuZZ3RwviTJMr7kQblp4RoC70IQAvD_BwE Cheaper. Not sure about child safety but fun - they could have proper gymkhanas with the bending poles.

What about a subscription to a pony magazine? xx
Have they read Claire Balding's books - they are really good, as stocking fillings, I'm thinking?

Aww don't be mean. Get them poniesGrin

WhyDidIEatThat · 09/11/2018 11:00

Agree with fucksgiven, every child needs a pony!

I grew up without my own pony. Sometimes parents just cannot afford them. I think in the end it made me a better rider. I was so desperate to ride that I would get on whatever was offered. At 13 i was backing 3 year old Arab colts. I'm no longer the "crash test dummy" who will get on anything - I'm too old and it hurts too much! But I am still the rider you give the quirky, funny, difficult horses to. I've ridden such a variety that I will just take the time to find out what makes this one tick.

Don't worry OP - there are plenty of gifts out there for the pony-mad that don't actually involve getting a pony!

Definitely can't afford a pony!!! Live in a city but not UK and there wouldn't be an expectation here from kids to own a pony. Don't think any of the group they do lessons have their own.
I found another place that do the jumps so am looking into that. They love playing this out in the garden.

Are there any big horse shows around Christmas where you are? Took horse-mad DD to Olympia horse show in London a few years back as her Christmas present and she loved it - bit of a present to myself too though I must admit!

tiredacademic · 09/11/2018 19:45

Op, can you link to the jumps? DD1 wanted some but the ones I saw on amazon had bad reviews.

whymewhyme · 09/11/2018 19:53

An 11'2 and 13'2 should do the trick!!!

Would they like a Breyer horse? The 7/8 year old girl riders I know absolutely love them.
