Riding boots with good ankle support

Hi,
I've recently started horse riding and so far have ridden in my Country boots. However they don't give me the support I need for my ankle. Last time after riding it was quite painful and even gave way whilst going downstairs and I fell. Luckily just my pride was hurt.
Now I'm looking for a decent pair of boots which will give me support so I do not have to give up riding.
I've tried some Brogini's in our local shop and a few at decathlon. They all seemed to be too stiff and uncomfortable. The only pair I found comfortable were a pair of suede Jodhpur boots, but I don't think they are very practical cleaning wise and offer enough support.
I've been googling and found these Ariat boots https://www.naylors.com/ariatr-ladies-challenge-square-toe-zip-paddock-riding-boots-chocolate?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIi6vclKjg3QIVSrXtCh0KKQZ8EAQYASABEgIgIDD_BwE
Has anyone got these? Or any recommendations? Thanks

I used to have the same problem. Ankles agony at the end of a lesson. Would fall over when I got off the horse. Then have problems ongoing.

On my instructors advice changed my stirrup irons to sprenger bow balance.

They flex and are much kinder on your ankles and therefore knee and hip joints.

I haven't had any problems since using them.

Agreed, you want to change your stirrups! I have Sprenger S4 stirrups and my joints are so much more comfortable.

I have ankle problems due to an old break. I have Ariat boots, Bromonts (long field boots) and lace up paddock boots.
Both took very little breaking in and are supportive.
I also have Sprenger stirrups but as you say you've just started riding I'm guessing you're going to a riding school? So maybe not practical to get stirrups for yourself.

I always go for Toggi short boots - they fit my feet and give good support.

I wear mine with suede or leather chaps - this gives you some stability/stickability through your calf and lower leg as well and they are easy to get on and off. Ariat do nice leather ones if you wanted to team them with the short boots.

I have troublesome ankles but find that short boots and tight leather style chaps better that long boots. My ankles dont cop well with being “fixed” in place by long boots!
Riding in country boots ive found to be difficult, often too loose and bulky between me and the horse.
