My horse died today

Just never woke up from a snooze in the sun , I know I will be grateful for that in time but right now it is such a shock.

She was really well, 25 years old and I have owned her for 24.

A true friend, we had an incredible bond and had a lot of fun over the years. 😔

I could sit my toddler on her and she became angelic but was a tricky (lovely though) ride the rest of the time.

We did so much together, she was completely fab in her day.

Other than my three horsey friends no one I know seems to get why I am so bloody sad, honestly!

Thank you seventeentwo. She didn’t seem that old to me, but I guess she was. Still real this morning.

We had such adventures, when I moved abroad she came with me. The NRT groom who flew with her loved her and asked if he could keep in touch, that was 15 years ago and we are still in touch. How many horses must he meet and fly with/spend a few days in quarantine with.

I have been eyeing up a painting in a local gallery but wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the cash. Today I will be buying it in her memory.

What a shock for you, but of all the ways it could happen to just to lie down in the sun for a snooze and go is probably the least awful. Cherish and enjoy the memories of a wonderfully long companionship.
