And what facilities do you have/what's included?

£45 a week for DIY. Includes hay, straw and morning turnout - plus stuff like water, electricity, etc We have indoor and outdoor schools, plus really good hacking and bridle ways.

Owning a horse there gets a 50% reduction on lessons too

Pinkponiesrock · 06/01/2018 20:45

Mine is currently on DIY schooling livery, I’m £375 a month.
Haylage and bedding included, poo picking done, pony ridden 6 days a week, groomed, turn out and bring in.
I just muck out, make feeds, do hay and water.
She’s been there for 2 months for breaking and schooling and is almost ready to come home. Excited to get her back!

GreyMorning · 06/01/2018 20:56

£75 for diy grass livery including hay. Outdoor school with flood light and miles of off road hacking. Plus it's walking distance from my home.

Floralnomad · 07/01/2018 00:41

£120 per week , full livery inc worming ( they do worm counts ) . We have to do nothing . Pony is stabled at night / day turnout . There is a lovely sandschool but our pony is retired so we don’t use it .

Polkadotties · 07/01/2018 09:41

£550 a month for 5 day full livery and diy at the weekend, for a 17hh Irish draught. All my bedding and feed is included. Yard staff still feed the horses at the weekend.
We’ve got an indoor and outdoor school, indoor lunging pen and an indoor ‘play pen’.
Love my yard!

Livery amounts vary enormously from area to area. DIY near London will be hugely more expensive than DIY in a rural location.

iveburntthetoast · 07/01/2018 14:06

Of little use to OP, but I paid £10 a month for DIY grass livery back in the early 1990s.

I don’t have a horse now (can’t afford it), but full livery in my area seems to be between £80 and £110 per week.

constantchange · 07/01/2018 15:49

I know Castle. I am in probably the second most expensive area in the UK for livery so wanted to see how prices compare. I'm actually getting a great deal going by these replies. Smile

Ive I remember when we used to pay £15 a week for DIY and that included stable, huge field and school. Oh to go back to those prices!

£25 per week for DIY. Includes paddock, stable, tack room, feed room, electric, water, floodlit arena.
I pay on top for feed, bedding and hay.

Puppymouse · 12/01/2018 18:05

£122 a month for DIY. No bedding or hay included. We have outdoor school with floodlights, all year turnout, a lunge pen and a small bark turnout - mainly used by one of our lami ponies when it's frosty.

The big pros with ours are amazing panoramic views, 24/7 Turnout in a massive field for 6 months of the year which they all love and we're just on the edge of some of the best off road hacking in the region. Very lucky.

MrsExpo · 12/01/2018 20:03

I’m on 7 day full livery. Bedding (6 bales of shavings per month), Hay, feed and all chores included. Great daily turn out, nice outdoor school, lots of good off-road hacking, lovely people, lots of secure storage .... its on a local farm, so a bit rough and ready but all that for £450.00 per month. We also have a brilliant yard manager, which means a lot.

TangledSlinky · 12/01/2018 20:59

£135 p/w for part in the SE which covers everything except grooming, exercise and tack cleaning.

HorseNotPeoplePerson · 14/01/2018 10:17

£140 a month DIY. Stable, all year turn out (up to 12 hours in winter) 24/7 in summer.

Flood lit all weather school, on site off road lanes and tracks to ride. Can buy bedding and hay haylage from yard or buy your own in.

Yard manager, to help if needed for odd days eg, turn out, bring in, rug change, feed, muck out. Part livery and full livery packages available too.

I only pay £40-60 a month, as I help out the YM once a week.

South bucks.

YourWinter · 22/01/2018 19:59

£190/month for DIY, includes ad lib hay but not feed or bedding. No winter grazing and limited summer turnout.

ChiefClerkDrumknott · 23/01/2018 13:29

I'm moving this weekend (SE Wales) and it's £238/month part livery. Feeding/rug change/turn out in the morning, hay/haylage/2 bales of flax a week and basic feed included (have to buy own supplements), outdoor school, all year turn out, lorry/trailer storage all included.

Currently paying £130/month for DIY and paying for hay/straw/feed/morning turn out on top. Does have good hacking and a lovely school, but the owners are bonkers!

WhyDidIEatThat · 24/01/2018 08:21

I have one on full livery, base price is £100 a week which includes feed bedding hay etc, (hot water! Electricity!) get a tiny discount because he’s turned out in my field during the day but then extra to have him hacked once a week and lunged twice. One on diy next door, about £130? £150? a month assistance available in emergencies. She’s there for the smaller, secure paddocks.

PirateMemoryGame · 24/01/2018 12:12

I'm in the Cotswolds. £35 per week for DIY. Use of horsewalker, floodlit outdoor school, and small indoor for turnout inlcuded.

cookiedough1 · 24/01/2018 12:16

I was paying £67 a month just a couple of years back for DIY. It even included straw! The yard before that was £175 a month for the same but with morning turnout. No horses now, had to give up riding.

Rural Scotland.

Jappydooda · 25/01/2018 14:56

I currently pay £35 a week for DIY, but it is really grass livery as I don't use the stable. There are no facilities, just fields and stables. However, I also have to do "jobs" either a morning or an afternoon - poo pick the fields (4 fields, 10 horses), feed all the horses and put out hay/haylage, bring in/turn out 5 (depending on the time of day) and also muck out a couple of stables and do hay and water.

I am moving yards next week to one that is cheaper and closer, it has an outdoor arena and horse walker and individual turnout. Still on DIY, but I only have to do my horse, so should be a lot less work and a lot more time spent on my boy.

Moanranger · 25/01/2018 17:27

I pay £617 month for full livery. Riding is extra. Price includes all feed, bedding, turning horse out, bringing in, & parking for trailer. My back cannot handle DIY. The yard is owned by pros - 1SJ, 1dressage, so standard of lessons is high. Outdoor school and walker. Yard is also really well kept. Fields very good, individual TO. In W Sussex.
My daughter in Greater London pays £650 for similar, but has an indoor school as well. So a price around £600-700 is the going rate for full livery in Surrey, WSussex, Greater London. A little cheaper for part livery or place with fewer facilities.

jinglebells123 · 27/01/2018 19:06

Yard I’m hopefully taking new pony to (subject to vetting) is £60 per week for full livery and an extra £10 if you want to use arena. It is extremely cheap compared to others in the area and good standard for what you pay.
