Namechange for photo purposes!

DD (6) wants to go to a local show this week. She is well off the lead at home, but not quite up to getting round a course of jumps.
She wants to do lead rein workers, and if I'm going to the effort, I thought we should enter another class at least.
I have no idea what to do though- we are a showjumping home really.
What would we need to do for our individual show? And if he is plaited anyway, is it worth entering show hunter pony?
Piture is of him out express eventing on the lead a couple of weeks ago

At local level I'd try lead rein show hunter pony if they have such a class. You'd need to plait up of course..

Is he a M&M - if so what about LR M&M class - they are usually the biggest classes of the day but at least no plaiting. Definitely got some M&M in him but looking at his strong neck and deep girth I'd go for show hunter.

Do they have a First Year First Ridden (sometimes called Tiny Tots) for children coming off the lead rein with no cantering?

No FYFR unfortunately. He is a registered Welsh A, but I think he suits plaits better, and will be plaiting fr workers either way (no m&m workers).
What is the format of show hunter? Is it all walk/trot together, then line up and individual show? So clueless on this stuff! We have tweeds- is a plaited browband suitable or does he need a plain. Could he go in a wilkie snaffle or would he need a true snaffle instead?

I think it is the same format as a standard lr class. But the best thing about local shows is you can be asked to do anything!

My ds is 3 and just started riding our outgrown pony who is also a section A. He has ridden about half a dizen times so far this year. Yesterday he insisted on jumping so we had to have trotting poles out. I can see us doing whp on the lead. Just hoping my poor, knackered knees stand up to it!

I have a 3 year old who wants to jump too- scary!
I was hoping we could avoid wh on lead and that DD could do cradle stakes next year without me, but looks like I've not got away with it. Most worried about bringing a pole down myself!

How did you get on?

She won lead rein working hunter and then reserve champion working hunter! 3rd of 3 in SHP, nice comments from judge- lovely pony, beautiful manners but just not as showy as other 2. Not sure if we should try m&m instead? DD had a brilliant time :)

Well done , he does indeed look like a lovely pony , that is a fabulous picture .

I'd go for a M&M First Ridden at a small show to get her going..
