We may be getting a loan pony for dd, and I'm trying to get a realistic idea of the costs first. We don't have all the details of the pony yet so I can't get a realistic online quote, but it would be really helpful to have some idea of how much it will cost us to insure her?
Can anyone point me in the direction of a ballpark figure?

I'm with KBIS and I think its around £30 per month. I can't think of all the cover details off hand, but its medium-level coverage - 3rd party, vets bills, loss of use etc.

Mine's about the same amount, I'm with Shearwater.

Thank you both, that sounds like the level of cover we'd be looking for. Can I ask...are you both happy with the insurers you've chosen? Have you ever had to make a claim and if so how were they?

I had to make a claim last year when dhorse had a virus and needed lots of blood tests. I was very happy with the insurance company, they were extremely helpful on the phone answering all my questions (I'd never made a claim before) and they paid out straight away. Couldn't fault them at all.

My horse is 30 pcm for all activities, 15 pcm for my veteran. KBIS - Made 3 big claims for older one in last 5yrs & they've been great. Paid out really quickly.
