Boots/wellies recommendations please!

Currently I have a pair of cheapy wellies that are ok, but aren't going to live forever.
I'm looking for some recommendations for wellies or boots that'll stand up to muddy dog walks and general "farm" chores, although not specifically horses.
I was looking at muck boots but the reviews seem to be either fab, or not worth a penny so they seem a bit risky.

I don't have a budget - for good stuff I'll pay :)
I am wide of calf however, which means they either need to be short, or suitable for wide legs.

Thanks

We've had Le Chameaus for decades and definitely worth the extra money in terms of fit, quality, warmth etc. We just go for the Verzinords (?) with neoprene lining.

DD has Hunters but we're not keen - very poor quality these days.

I believe Aigle are good but not had any since I was little.

Dubarrys, mine are on their fifth year now and still scrub up (when required) beautifully, expensive but totally get your moneys worth.

I think you are going to get conflicting opinions!

I wouldn't recommend dubarry's - have had mine 2 years/winters, and at the beginning of this winter one started leaking(so they stayed waterproof for 1 winter).....given that when I am going to be in muddy conditions I wear my neoprene aigles, I consider that pretty shite!

I really like my neoprene aigles , have done two winters, we have horses and have to wade through mud and they are still going strong.

My only caveat about wellies and dog walking ( which I have worn mostly for the last 2 years) is that toward the end of this winter I had an issue with my Achilles (I tore part of it) , the verdict was that walking over an hour each day, on muddy slippery ground in wellies was the problem - they don't provide the support. I have now graduated too proper walking boots, and save the wellies for retrieving horses out of muddy paddocks.....

I bought Aigles this year and have been really pleased with them. They've lasted much longer than previous wellies despite our exceptionally wet and muddy winter and they are comfortable and have good grip. Would recommend.

I have wide calves and bought tayberrys last year after working my way through 3 pairs of boots in as many months and having a nightmare with finding some to fit my legs comfortably!
They are lined so warm (not great for summer) and very hard wearing. I wore them to walk 4 miles daily every day plus yard chores and 3 months in not a sign of wear so far - were about £65 iirc.

I'm greedy and have 2 pairs... Le chameau neoprene ones which I can't spell are fab for mud and water and not worrying about. Mine are on their 13th winter of horses, shooting and dog walking and still look and feel fab.

I also have a pair of dubarrys which I love and are lighter and cooler than the Le chameaus. However they do take a lot more looking after and personally I don't like mucking out in them as they soak up the ammonia smell.

I'd go to a good large equestrian shop that stocks boots and have a try on. I've had loads of pairs of Wellies and muck boots over the years, but have never really found a pair that last or don't rub. I now have a pair of waterproof leather Ariats. Had them since last Autumn. Wear them every day for yard work, muddy walks, riding. They don't leak at all and not too hot (with thin socks) in really hot weather.
