We are collecting a horse on Saturday. 15hh Bright bay ID x TB, gelding. He needs a name!

Ideally it would be a slightly quirky, non human name.

At the moment I love 'Dude' and 'Wilbur'

Any other ideas?

TIA

Well of course it's easier to name him when we know what he looks like.....

Thanks all there's some great ideas here. He has his show name (which is something lad. Can't remember what!)
He is 6 and looks like your typical bright bay hunter type.
He seems very chilled out (fingers crossed!)

6 yo, but not got a stable name, known name, name that has been used when being regularly schooled/trained/worked?

Have you bought him via a dealer?

He will learn a new name, so I suppose in the long run it won't matter. In your position I would still then be inclined to wait a short while to see what suits.

Enjoy!

I used to ride an ID called Riley. Always liked that name.

I had an Erik! Wonderful horse but somewhat 'spirited' in his box .....

Anyway Blush, what about Chopsy? Or Noodles ?

My riding instructor had one whose show name was Shy Ted . Jumped at quite senior BSJA level as I recall . Used to amuse us no end hearing it bellowed by the commentator .

And he was one too !

What about Guinness ? Or Haribo ? Or Hey monster?

My newest boy has a show name of In for A Pound , as that's what I paid for him .

Doxology.

The name of Samuel Hamilton's horse in East of Eden IIRC.

The meaning is a bit on the religious side, but such a fun word and name!
