Want to go on a horsey holiday this year to improve my riding and have a relaxing holiday. Any recommendations? I am a novice rider.

Have been looking at Freerein, they look great but a lot of £££ for a holiday in Wales.....anyone been?

I can recommend www.frenchridingholidays.co.uk in the Lot Valley in France.

Very relaxing, great food and company, fabulous rides, lovely horses.

I like the look of freerein too and I think they do guided trails.

I would say with horsey holidays it's better to pay the ££££ and go somewhere good, horses are not cheap to keep even in Wales.

French one looks nice too though, I'm getting very tempted by that.

Depending on your budget, horse riding in Iceland was utterly amazing.

I went to wheal buller in cornwall. As much riding as you like (I did 4 hours a day for 3 days and just about coped). You can hack, have lessons, go for beach rides ((although I didnt get to do this as I was on my own there and they said they had to have a minimum of 3 people). They have lots of horses so you can ride the same few or you can ride different ones and you can do western, sidesaddle and bareback if you want as well

Iverk it is amazing. Not cheap but the prices are very fair I think.
