I'm very keen to rekindle this old flame!! My dd1 has just started riding lessons and it's making me want to get back into it. I'm 38Blush will I be surrounded by little children on their little ponies!

Go for it, what's to regret?

I went out and bought Troy in January having only sat on a horse a couple of times since having kids and have had an amazing time, I've just bought a new mare and she's lovely!

My friend's Dad hunts at 75 he's jumping 5ft hedges in ireland on his holidays Grin

Also the 2 best riders on our yard are both 50, age is no limit!

I'm 35 and have a lesson booked for Sunday after a major break. It's a private one (years ago, after DD2's birth, I had a group lesson and was surrounded by little ones on ponies - not great fun! Grin), so I can focus on getting back into the swing of things.

I'm a little nervous as I'm sure I've forgotten loads and have a dodgy knee and pelvis after having SPD, but MN gave me the confidence to go for it and I'm really excited. Why not book a lesson and see how you feel? I bet you'll love it, but be warned, it seems that a lot of, ahem, 'mature' people returning to the saddle seem to end up with their own horse within a year or two...Grin

I started again in late 30's after a 14 or 15 year break.

Love it.

I had a couple of lessons recently after 17 years off, it was amazing and I felt like I remembered everything as if it was yesterday but oh my god the pain!! Had a private lesson and the instructor made me cross my stirrups and everything, bit much for a first lesson back!! I was destroyed for two weeks but well worth it!!

Hi Lucy, I had spd and it's still not right and my knees are knackered, but honestly I feel stronger already (I've been riding sons pony too) I do have bad days and get help shifting bales, etc, but honestly it's not been as bad as expected. I look forward to having svelte thighs, Wink
