night of worrying

late this afternoon a large party of Irish travelers pulled up about 500m from where my horses and stables are.

..I don't care what the political correct lot on the forum say... when you have a field with a coloured pony and stables with rugs, feed, hay .... you worry!!!

friend doing late night checks tonight, I will be there early tomorrow morn, police already been out to see them.

Still there!!! :-(

Police chucked some of them out of next door but 1 field tonight when I was poopicking.

Have left poo in my lovely galavinisied wheelbarrow rather than tipping onto muck heap tonight.

Had a genius idea tonight though... My rugs are all on a rail in back of the stables so I have buckled them all together and over the rails so you can't grab them easily and take them. (how can 2 horses have 16 rugs!!!!)

The nice expensive ones I have at home and I know I will curse my joining them all together when I need one.

Police still very visible.

Eve - paint your post code on the rugs in big letters. Again, it makes them visible if they are nicked and it decreases the sell-on value so they are "less" likely to steal them.

The most likely time they will steal something is just before they move on. bitter experience with the bastards

Oh yes, the lady I bought dhorse from had travellers at the bottom of her rented field for a while. She couldn't spend as much time as she liked there as she was very ill at the time but the night the travellers left so did most of the tack and equipment that had been locked in her barn, by strange coincidence! Hmm.

gone this morning...

and the mess left behind is heartbreaking. The hazardous waste team are coming tomorrow to clean it up as there is human excrement everywhere.

nothing nicked from us fortunately.

Well that's a relief, and didn't take too long either really. To leave mess like that is so disgusting though, there is no need for it.

I just don't understand that, you know "litter" is one thing, and stealing seems to go with the territory, but who in their right mind wants to live in a Mumbai slum with sewage everywhere? :(
