At local level your brown saddle and brown leather bridle with snaffle would be correct. You can use a brown girth or a white one depending on your ponies colour but brown would be more popular. Wear a numnah but it should be as discreet as possible and you shouldn't be able to see much of beneath the saddle. You would not normally wear a martingale for showing on the flat, although some do use them for workers.

You should wear a tweed jacket with plain shirt (usually white) and tie.
You would normally wear a blue or brown velvet hat - black wouldn't really be worn but would be ok for local shows. Your hair should be tied back in a ponytail or bun or kept in a net. Unless you're a junior then don't go for ribbons.

Beige jods would be fine but you need long black boots (ideally straight cut with a garter strap but don't worry if you don't have these) if you are over 16 (and not riding a small breed - which you're not). You should carry a show cane which should be less than 30cm long. A brown whip with a subtle flap would be ok for workers.

Brown gloves would be correct but definitely not spurs!

Go to some shows this Spring - they will all have ridden Section D classes and you can get some tips off the other riders.

Have fun!!
