Lame!

Nearly 2 weeks ago now I thought Alice was lame when I hacked her out - I jumped off and ran her up and down - all fine and had a great hack. No problems Sunday. Wednesday - early morning ride and she was lame again - jumped off and ran her up and down and she was sound. Had another good ride with no probs.
Thursday I brought her out the stable and she was obviosly lame - within 5 mins walking she was fine. Panicked and called vet! He came out and scored her 0 then after stretching the tendons scored her 2 which after a few seconds then reverted to 0. Gave me bute and said not to ride her for a week. I notice she is still a little lame when she first comes out in the morning but is fine within 5 mins - its like she's stiff (she's 7).

I've got a call in to the vet but wondered if anyone has any ideas. She is very bored and I am desperate to be able to ride again now we've got this great weather!

Was she lame on a front or back leg? And is it the same one each time?

Dpony once appeared to be lame, but after warming up for a few minutes was perfectly fine. Now we just make sure that she is properly warmed up before cantering and jumping and she has been fine since [she is 21/22].

Can Alice live out? If she can move around she will be less likely to have stiffness induced lameness and it may solve the problem.

Thanks for the replies. Alice is lame in her front leg.

Vet has been again( 2 weeks now) and no real improvement. It is bad first thing but she warms up to be sound (just leading - no riding).

farrier has been today and is converned it could be her ringbone. He thinks its like 'concussion' She has done alot of road work since I have had her ( 5 months) whereas previously she was just shown. He has told me not to look on the internet ( Ihave been doing!)and is making some egg bar shoes for her to see if he can get her sound. I am waitiing for a call back from the vet. He came out last week again and could see no cause. She has full vetting on purchase so I hope it will be something solvable.

I was gutted (to say the least) but have calmed down now and will do my best for her. She remains a fantastic horse with a nature second to none so I am going to remain optiistic this will be solved. Thank goodness for insurance. If the worst happens I will bring forward my plans to have a foal from her. I love her so what do you do!

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

PS - My 2 children are now sure I love Alice more than them (not true, but close!)
