Can afford and like Dubarry or Le chem.

Don't ride but just thought this night be a good place to ask.

Live in a village so want for field walks etc

Been looking at these as more of an all rounder instead of saying similar for a welly

Can get some for 89 worth going for??

Toggi boots are fantastically hard wearing, I've got Toggi riding boots and Muckboots for the yard. Both pairs of boots are excellent.

Have a look at Dublin River boots as well - similar to Toggi and well known brand.

They do smack of being Dubarry rip offs but should be good boots in their own right and a fraction of the cost.

I bought a pair of Dublin River boots, as I wanted something more comfy / attractive than a welly. They were super comfy, but where not waterproof as they claim Sad Such a shame, because they were toastie and lovely. Took them back and the shop agreed that this is a known issue. Went for Toggi Canyon boot instead........they are fab!! I wash mine under the tap after each visit to the horses and not even the slightest leak. They've even stood up to walking in the river with DS Grin

elephant that is good to hear as I got some Toggi Quebec yesterday. Think they are very similar to canyon but with more of a tread (hoping to use for regular muddy field walks)

Not sure if they fit right or not though as they are the first boots of this kind I have bought. They feel quite loose on my feet, but couldn't get my foot into the size below, maybe I could of if I had really persevered not sure.

Any idea on how they should fit ???

Are you wearing any sock liners. If they are loose you could consider buying them - usually with fake fur tops that turn over.

However if you've not warn them outside perhaps you should pop back the shop - did you take advice from the assistants when you bought them. You should be able to jog comfortably in them if necessary.

threecurrantbuns · 15/02/2012 13:21

The shop assistant said she had duBarry boots and they weren't tight on her feet.

Did think about wearing extra thick socks but want to wear them for walls when it's spring time too.

I do have narrow feet/ankles so not sure if they are just loose for that reason. Like I say no idea how snug they should be, but at the time I couldn't get on the size below. Although wonder if I could have forced it and they might give Hmm didn't want to try to hard being as assistant was having lol.

They are funny sizes though as a 39 is equivalent to a UK5-5.5. Then a 40 is a UK6-6.5. I usually take a UK6 so maybe I'm unfortunately between!

Bit off topic (sorry for hijacking!) but do you ride in your toggi canyons? The shop down the road is selling some and I've tried them on, but they don't seem to have much give in them

elephantpoo · 15/02/2012 20:29

saintmerryweather - I ride in mine. They do seem to soften as you wear them in.

threecurrantbuns - the sizing is strange.....glad it's not just me Grin
I was trying on 41 and 42 (whopping big feet Shock ) The 41 felt too snug, and the 42 was slightly big. Like you I went for the bigger option. They are ok though. Don't think the 41 would've "given" enough.

threecurrantbuns · 15/02/2012 21:03

Thanks, i tried them on tonight to be sure im keeping them before wearing outside, and i think the fit is ok, they are mostly loose on my ankles/heals of my feet, moving up and down slightly but like i say this is a bit of a problem a have when buying footwear.

Just hoping they dont really rub (another problem a have) as atm they are quite hard around the ankle/heal. Really want them to be a winner as they look quite nice and like a winner for wet and muddy walks.

Might be worth me investing in some sock liners, any ideas on where to get some nice but budget ones? Dubarry do some but they are £25.
