Riding weight loss "boot camps" - do any exist? If not, I wonder why not?

I realise it's a niche market, but surely it could work. There could be lots of vigorous mucking out to burn calories, plus grooming etc. Mixed in with several hours' riding a day, it could be very effective.

I know some stables do "riding for fitness" but I'm thinking about a week/weekend away.

Xmas Smile nice idea but i'm not sure who would want someone seriously overweight riding their horse!

And to be fair, there are still a lot of people who regularly muck out and ride who are overweight.

My aunt is not very tall, and not very thin but with her she is very fit and very strong due to riding a 17hh dressage horse at quite a high level. She thinks that riding is very good for maintaining weight and building muscle but not necessarily good for weightloss iyswim?

But u suppose if someone does no exercise at all then it would work.

I'm pushing heavy wheelbarrows and grooming muddy horses every day. It just gives me more of an appetite. Xmas Blush
