torches are useless, unless perhaps I can find fluorescent things to stick on rugs - what do you do?

I think we had more lighting nearby before, and a much much smaller field.

The scary thing is when im poo picking my friends field in the dark and her humungus highland creeps up on me and wuffles down my collar! I nearly shit a brick!

Beware of horses with similar names btw. I was once calling in the dark for little grey 'Dandy' and narrowly missed being flattened by a large brown thing hurtling towards me. Later found out her name was 'Bambi'!

Sorry Haggy but your story about the headcollar on the cow had me pmsl. Same with the pony following you around

Its amazing how something the size of a small car can move totally silently! The Commandos need to recruit horses!

At last - an upside to having a grey!

Reflective paint on the rug works wonders. try and put it where they don't roll as much otherwise you have to keep cleaning the mud off, either right on front or in the hollow of the back - head torches scare the bejesus out of my horses and they run away from the torch as it's actually a monster coming to eat them.
