Pony club-is it worth joining?

I wonder if anyone can give me some in put.DD (7) has been riding at a local school for about 2.5 years and is keen to join the Pony Club. Her riding school is affiliated, but I'm not sure what that means.I think she likes the idea of the competitions and children's meets, but we live a few miles from the stables and have no horsebox or means of towing one.If she could borrow a pony for these events,we could only attend if I walked there with her riding,so would be limited somewhat.

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
Thankyou.

She might if I ask her.Smile.

She has bought some lovely brown/cream houndstooth tweed to make the jacket up in, and brown velvet for the collar.I almost wish I was still riding,so I could have one too.

Oh mirage, you may just find a queue forming! They sound lovely! DD is going to be doing working hunter this year and will need a jacket - along with just about everything else (bridle, saddle, jods, gloves, jacket...) Sad Trust me, getting your own is the start of a very slippery slope Grin

Thank you Lowregnumber. You are right about the slippery slope.I had to disuade dd1 from buying Horse and Hound today,I think it is a bit hard going for a 7 year old to read.

I don't know - I would place a good bet that she would manage to read the "horses for sale" section ok Wink

My DD is 11 and loves her pony club meetings at the riding school. I am completely ignorant of all things horse related but she pays £4 for weekly hour long class to learn about caring for horses. We do not own or plan to own any pony btw.

Trouble is, aimingforthesky, what you plan and what you end up with can be very different things!
