Please help save a London city farm/riding school for children

Deen City Farm is a brilliant community farm, giving inner-city kids a chance to see animals being well looked after. There's also a fabulous riding school for local children, and tons of volunteering opportunities for children of all abilities. The work they do is amazing.

There's a strong eco focus, too, with workshops on growing your own veg, and tons of green activities for local kids. Entry to the farm is completely free.

Even if you don't live in London, please take a second to sign the online petition to ask Merton Council not to cut its grant.

Thank you, Charlotte. I can't imagine anyone not having fond memories of Deen City Farm. It's one of the best things in Merton, that's for sure.

done ... however although we've loved visiting the farm dd was desperate to have riding lessons there - I've called so many times and never even had a call back to say she's on a waiting list or anything .. so slightly mixed feelings here

I'm so sorry to hear that, Basildonbond. Any chance you could call in and talk to them direct? I can't understand why they're not returning your calls - they always return mine.

There are waiting lists, but they do move, so well worth going on them. Just pop in if you can.

Also, I've just thought, there's a separate number for the stables - if you're ringing the general farm number, the message might not be getting through.
