I found it! Hanging up on peg labelled 'Barney', what a stupid place to put it Blush.

Am being really pathetic generally though, hopefully it's just from being under the weather and us all adjusting to new regime and not some sudden loss of ability to perform complex tasks like 'lead a horse through a gate' Hmm. For a mere £1 I could purchase some assistance with this, might do that until I can grow a spine manage them better.

Gawd, what are you like? Oh well at least you found it!

Blimey if it's only £1 I'd get the help. We used to have to go through a field full of other horses to get to ours and it was horrible. Been there, done that, never doing it again!

Well think it is more like £6 to catch and bring in, but they could ask for £65 and it would feel worth every penny!

Think I'll budget for more assistance regularly, I love every other part of our new arrangement but was starting to feel really anxious about cutting corners because it was so difficult to bring them in. Can't check for injuries properly in the field, very non bhs approved methods of peeling half the rugs back, having a quick grope (while tries to trot away from me with straps dangling everywhere) and then replacing and peeling other half away.

I think what you really need is a good strong hitching rail. You can tie them to it while you sort their rugs out without them wandering off (tsk tsk), and you might in time be able to leave one there while you take the other one through the field of doom and then come back for it, rather than trying to take them both together. You might have to build up to that though.Hmm That was how we used to manage when we had to get three of them down a stretch of road to the stables and couldn't really take them all together. Luckily my mum's big horse could be trusted to wait nicely(ish) once he realised we would be coming straight back for him.

I think I could use the hay rack (with my trusty baling twine of course) as it is totally submerged and unmovable and/or the gate. Project for tomorrow.

They were so good today I feel bad for moaning earlier, it is clearly just not very good for them to have more than a couple of days off in a row. Feel a bit Envy of people who can do nothing with their horses or ponies for ages and just get on and ride without injury incident but mine need work and so do I and that's all there is to it!

At least I held off on the Shetland idea for time being, I'd really have something to complain about if I was trying to lead three hooligans at once.
