I want my tenner back...

A very small 1st world problem but its getting under my skin.

I run an afterschool club with another teacher. We have a cooperative relationship generally.

I've bought quite a few bits and prices for the club...stationary and chocolate prizes. She has never bought prizes or has never given me money for the purchases I have made. Thats fine.

We had our first little party last Christmas. I bought goodies for the children (crisps etc). She said she would Revolut me half but she never did.

She then bought overly expensive treats for the next party (at summer). I sent her half the price immediately.

We said we would have another party this Christmas week. No one bought the goods so last night I knew if I didnt get them for today it wouldnt happen.

So I spent 20 on treats, sent her the receipt and she said she'd pay half. Nothing came in last night.

Had the party today. She was there with phone in her hand watching me distribute the goods. She said thanks and she'd Revolut me.

She still hasn't.

I feel petty chasing someone over a tenner but its the principle. I'm noticing a pattern with her. I don't want to appear petty but I've asked twice. If she doesn't send it this week, its hard to ask for it again. Its a small thing but feeling resentful.

I'd be pretty fed up too. She seems to make a habit of this. Some people are so rude.

It's shame you paid half when she fronted up that time.

I'd approach once more saying you need it for xx's pocket money as they want to use it for Christmas.

If you don't feel comfortable just don't front up any more events. She's cheeky cow.

Unless it is a business, I would stop buying the treats and extras. You are (i assume) a teacher who is giving up their time after school to run this club for free which is more than enough already!

just stop buying them. I decided that I wouldn't buy anymore stuff for school. Speak to HT and see if you can get a budget for the club. She will continue as she knows you will martyr yourself. Once she sees you have stopped then she might realise. Why did you pay her in the summer. She chose to buy more.

Don't let this be the hill you die on. Just stop buying stuff. Or go round the school and use school resources. Giving the children a coloured pencil as a prize

Why do you need prizes? Not everyone gets a participation award.

Let the money go as you are stuck with this person but maybe don't do the club with them anymore. Also tell them that as they don't pay, you aren't buying anymore. Communicate with them.

I used to run a film club. It was free. I bought a packet of digestives every week and that was it. I also used spare biscuits left over from pupils' birthdays!!
