Finding it difficult to work in schools with children and then go home and parent my own children.

Basically I work with children the same age as my own children and it feels never ending.

I’ve always loved being a mother and I love children but having returned to work after MAT leave and career break I’m finding it almost unbearable. I can barely stand to spend time with my own kids which I know is awful
to say. I just want to be on my own and somewhere silent.

Has anyone else had this and the it’s got better?

I can't give any tips but I just wanted to empathise.
I have four, one of them is really tanking in her maths and I struggle to help her because I'm totally burnt out when I get home.

Sorry, that does sound hard.

Would you consider becoming a librarian for a few years? That might be quieter.

Me too, with teens. No solutions from me but utmost sympathy, as dealing with GCSE angst at home and school is QUITE the combo!

I did this for a few years... Taught the same age as my own kids. It was really tough, and I only worked half the week. My kids are now older and I still teach in KS1. Much easier now. I now feel like I'm a better teacher having had my own children of this age. Good luck
