New teacher - people asking favours

Hi, I’m new to teaching and I don’t know if this crosses a line or if I’m overthinking.
A friend of mine has asked me to pick up uniform for her child from my school and drop it to her. I will be teaching her child next year. I’ve agreed to do it and friend has emailed school to let them know.
Is this okay? Or does it cross a professional boundary? I don’t want to put myself in an awkward position, but am I overthinking?

I'd do it - don't think it crosses a boundary as it's a practical favour. However, I think you're right to start considering how to balance your friendship with your role as her child's teacher during the next academic year.

I think picking up uniform is fine as you don’t teach the child yet.

You say you are new - are you still an ECT? If so they chat to your mentor and get thief advise. I don’t know what age you teach but could there be any conflict with external coursework / SATs?

Yes this is fine - The only concern I would have as a headteacher myself is that if you started treating that child favourably to others in the class - which I don’t think you will as you question this.
