Hello, I guess I just need some reassurance and positive stories of people who have left teaching without a job lined up. Currently sat scrolling on job sites (outside of teaching) and wondering where I will next end up. Mixed feelings, but knew I couldn't have gone back. I hope it's the start of something fresh and exciting... Praying I have a job for September!

Well done on taking the plunge. I'm sure you'll find something.

I've done it twice. Once I ended up in a school I hated, but was all that was available. Once I ended up in the most lovely school and stayed for years.

Good luck!

I have resigned a couple of times in the summer term without a job. You just need to register with at least three agencies, and one of them should find you something. I have secured positions in August on two occasions, so try not to worry. You have lots of time to find something before then. I know it’s a bit worrying, but as I have said, I always had something for September. Then you need to make a great impression, and then you get a permanent contract by the end of the autumn term.

I, along with another teacher hired at the same time, handed in our notices at a dreadful school within a half term, leaving in December. We put in the bare minimum, I didn't find a January role in time so signed up to a few agencies, and eventually landed a job at a school I did supply for. And actually I'm really pleased I did the supply for a while. It expanded my horizons and was glad to get a break from all the pressures of full time! Teachers are in demand - know your worth!

I've resigned three times without a job to go and have ended up with a very nice job each time.
You just need to decide if you want to go back to teaching.
