Inspire me with ways to improve my immune system!

I'm currently on cold number 6 since October and utterly fed up with being constantly ill.

I work in a school teaching 2/3 mornings a week across the school. I also private tutor, 25 kids a week. So... that's a lot of different children and germs! Most of my tutoring parents are pretty good about requesting online sessions if their children are really coldy (I ask them to do this) but some just ignore me and send them regardless then pretend theyve misunderstood/forgotten. I can't really avoid germy children at school either other than opening windows where possible.

What can I do to help build up my immune system? I feel like I'm just lurching from one cold to the next and I'm exhausted.

Vitamin C rich foods
Take Vit C supplements
I promise next winter you will be almost immune to it all- it takes time but you are likely over the worst of it.

Thanks! I do already do this, although I've been dieting so am eating less of everything overall.

I'm not a new teacher. I've been in the classroom 23 years and always been a bit susceptible to colds but my goodness, this year has been awful! Probably worse than when I first qualified. Maybe my age.

Floradix - tablets. Some good Vit D supplements. 56 years old and haven't had a cold since last July - touch wood. Full time secondary teacher.

I am sorry to hear this OP, much as I sympathise, because I think sleep is actually important. Whenever I can manage enough for a week or so it makes a big difference and this is backed by science. No chance for you?

I think this has been the worst winter for a while for bugs. One of my DC is asthmatic and has needed several courses of steroids to shake off the colds.

Yes to high-dose vitamin C, plus zinc. I am a parent-carer to an autistic child who doesn’t sleep so I do empathise; I don’t know what’s disturbing your sleep but it truly makes all the difference.

If you tutor at home, invest in a decent HEPA filter (SmartAir are good value). A face mask at school?
