I wonder whether it's possible to transition from Teaching to be a solicitor or any other legal profession - 50 yo

What do you mean, "transition"? If you’re a teacher of law you might be partway to the necessary qualifications, but if you’re a teacher of French or Maths or Geography why should it help you become a lawyer, more than anyone else (or at least anyone else with an unrelated degree)?

Depending on your existing qualifications you are looking at a minimum of one year full time study, likely more.

If your first degree is an LLB or other qualifying law degree then you will need to do the Legal Practice Course (LPC) or the new Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE). If you don't have a law degree then you will first need to do the 'Graduate Diploma in Law' (GDL), often referred to as a law 'conversion' degree. The route to the Bar is slightly different.

After all this you will need a job - either a training contract or 'qualifying work experience' to qualify after the SQE. Some training contracts will fund your study but they are scarce and incredibly competitive so you would almost certainly have to self-fund. It's possible, sure, but it's an unusual path, mostly because I don't think many teachers are in a position to self-fund or take on tens of thousands of pounds of student debt in their fifties.

How to look for vocational training jobs

You need to do your own research, OP. It's one of the most important skills a lawyer has.
