I saw this earlier and was wondering what other teachers think.
I recognise some things only too well. The relentless pressure, the Heads running their own little fiefdoms and bullying faces that don't fit. I also, sadly, recognise the anxiety and the dark, desperate feeling of knowing that nothing is ever enough.
However, I know a lot of teachers and have dealings with a lot of schools in my current role - primary and secondary - and I don't recognise the behaviour described here. I am shocked at teachers being openly racist to colleagues. I just can't imagine any of the teachers I know behaving in that way. It's awful, but is it widespread? Does anyone have any experience of this sort of colleague to colleague bullying in schools?
I have seen some bullying where a little in-crowd clique of teachers pick on another, but it's usually more sly than this.
Does anyone have any thoughts?
