Shortly to return after maternity leave and wondering what my take home will be, not in London or the fringes.

I know about the TES pay calculator but I can never get that to work.

Have you got student loan to repay? Which type? Do you pay into the pension? No one can tell you without knowing those details. Also, if you’re returning part-way through the tax year you’ll probably not have paid much, if any, tax yet this year, so will have more of your tax-free allowance left.

No student loan; pay into pension. Good to know re tax, thanks.

£1801

According to Martin Lewis income tax calculator which has always works for me to the penny

But in can put in 8.9% for pension as would only accept whole numbers for some reason - usually can put in decimal

Anyway rounded up to 9% pension it's 1801. So maybe a few quid more than that.

I find the twinkl one pretty reliable: https://www.twinkl.co.uk/salary-calculator
