When your good school isn’t good for you

Just that really. I have moved schools to one that is good, oversubscribed and convenient for the commute.

Months in and I am still worrying that I made a wrong decision. Still don’t feel part of the team. Don’t have a best work mate. Behaviour is not great and I am not happy whereas before I was known for my behaviour management. Feel like I just feel a gap on the timetable

I just feel awful and dread school days

should I move again?

How long have you actually given it? I think it takes a year in a new school to really settle in.

Interested to see the responses.
Same position really but I only started at my new school this term so I know I need to give it longer.
I just don't feel it's for me long term.
How long do we give?

Honestly… I think when you know, you know. I nearly made myself ill after starting at a new school in September and convincing myself I’d be fine if I got to Christmas. I wasn’t and I am now off. Life is too short!

I'm feeling this too. In Scotland. Considering would it look bad to other schools that I am looking to move on already. Was thinking I should get to summer and see how I feel next year.

Thank you for all responses.
I can’t really put my finger on why I feel this way. On paper it’s good but my husband has noticed my increasing lack of confidence. I am doubting myself whereas before I knew I was doing a good job.
i just don’t want to keep feeling this way and know I have to make a decision. It is really causing me so much upset

I wouldn't worry too much about not having friends at work yet - but what's changed behaviour wise? Are SLT supportive? Is there a decent behaviour policy? Is your HOD looking after you?
