Positive Covid Test

My dilemma is this. Up all night sore throat, runny nose, aches, headache and a positive Covid test. If no high temperature we are expected to go in. There are high risk vulnerable adults and children within the setting I work in. I was only covering tomorrow as work Wednesday Thursday Friday. I hate the thought of passing this on and ruining Christmas. Thoughts please.

You are unwell - sore throat, aches, runny nose, headache, lack of sleep - regardless of having a high temperature or positive Covid.
Don't go in. You are ill.

(And personally I think you shouldn't because of the positive Covid, but that's by the by).

Don't go in you are ill. Allow your body to rest. Covid may feel mild, but can still effect you later on. Rest and recover.

(I also think you shouldn't go in with positive covid test, but realise my view isn't shared my many people. Covid isn't just mild for everyone. It's a vascular disease. )

I forgot to write... And I hope you feel better soon.

Stay home if unwell. It is not for anyone else to judge how unwell you are/ ma become.

Thank you for your comments and good wishes. I'm currently at home with a headache and feeling so fatigued that just to get up and do something is enough. I'm probably being too optimistic when I say that I'm hoping to go back to school on Wednesday. I love the last week before Christmas but I don't want to jeopardise everyone else. Feeling a bit sorry for myself atm x

Don't go in. I'm.a teacher too. I know there is guilt when we don't go in, however u are not well enuf and you certainly don't want to be passing it on. Take care OP

Absolutely do not go in. It's bonkers that schools expect us to go in now with a positive test. Stay at home and look after yourself, hope you feel better soon.

Not a teacher but in support of teachers - don't go in! I can't believe we've moved to this state of affairs so fast. If you had a flu you would not go in, feeling really ill and not wanting to give what can be a really unpleasant illness to others, and just before Christmas! Hope you feel better soon and have a well deserved rest.

If you're unwell, you're unwell. Fine tell them you have COVID, and if what they need to hear is that you have a high temp in order to be OK with you not coming in, then tell them you have a high temp. That seems like a nonsense rule, as there's lots of illnesses where you'd be too poorly to be in school, but don't have a high temp. You can self certify though so there's really no need to lie, you can tell them you're too unwell so won't be in, no further explanation is needed.
