Hi there. So, I studied Drama graduating in 2007 and worked in kids entertainment on ships and at hotels etc. for 10+ years. I then moved back to the UK, did some TA work then did my teacher training in 2018/19. I got a long term supply contract at a local school but didn’t enjoy it (I’m Foundation Phase trained but was working across every class in the school including an extremely challenging year 6 class as an NQT plus a number of the teachers were very unfriendly) and rather than look for other teaching work I fell into support work at a SEN college then worked for a young people’s charity. I got made redundant this year unfortunately but was lucky enough to find a job straight away but I’m not working directly with children and I feel a bit lost. I’m 38 and wondering if I made a mistake leaving teaching so quickly. My current role is well paid and I don’t NOT enjoy it but it’s not my passion, whereas working with children is. Any advice much appreciated!

Set yourself a time target to do current job (eg 1 year, 2 years), or a savings target, and in your spare time research other options, do online course etc.
