Now teachers will have a 6.5% increase does anyone think support staff should strike? Not just classroom based staff, but admin/office staff too. I know the majority in our school are on the minimum wage and worth so much more!

Are you in a union, @DinkyDaisy ?

DinkyDaisy · 27/08/2023 14:47

Yes. Unison.

JanglyBeads · 27/08/2023 18:40

They were very helpful to me!

DinkyDaisy · 27/08/2023 20:07

I don't want to piss work off but perhaps could ask them for advice...
I feel overlooked and undervalued. Need to be much more assertive at my appraisal...whenever that happens...not done well. Bit of a sloppy, disjointed, tick box exercise for TAs (well in my case anyway). Ineffectual exercise...

JanglyBeads · 27/08/2023 22:09

They gave me lots of advice and were very clear that they'd only act for me if I wanted them to.

Sortmylifeout52 · 27/08/2023 22:45

@DinkyDaisy I feel the same.
The role is full on and pay doesn't really reflect what I do.

I'm job hunting!
