Outreach Tutor

This might sound completely random, but has anyone in The Staffroom had experience working as an Outreach Tutor. I'm pretty desperate to leave my full time class based post now...I just can't do it anymore! I've taught for almost 30 years and at 58 I think I've done! I can't afford to retire completely (I'm single) but I'm too old to do anything else other than teach. And I'm bloody good at my job!! I'm a primary English Lead, SLT and KS Lead...but I'm burnt out in a toxic school working 70+ hours a week. I have no life outside school as I have no time or energy for it.

The job I've seen is teaching SEN 1:1 either face to face or online over Teams. It's with primary aged children who, for various reasons, are not in mainstream. There is no planning involved and the hours are 9-3.30, 4 days a week with one day in the office to do the paperwork/meetings and assessments with the outreach team.

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Salary is a slight drop, (only slight!) but I really don't care at this stage...I'll simply take my teacher pension early and I will actually be better off!

Thanks in advance!

I am an outreach tutor after being completely burnt out of my primary school teaching job.

Tutoring is absolutely wonderful, no pressures like there are in primary schools.

I teach one child (through choice) in their home and I actually get to teach rather than babysit or do admin.
