NPQ provider recommendations?

Looking to do the NPQLL qualification next year, would really like something with face to face content, not sure which provider to go with? I’m in north Hampshire and I can’t see any with group that are particularly local, but navigating this bit of many of the sites is tricky.

Anyone able to share experience?

I would use anyone who partners with UCL.
I would avoid anyone who partners with TeachFirst.
I've not done LL - I was going to but the numbers were too low for them to run the spring cohort - but I have done LTD with UCL, and I thought it was really good.

Interesting, I was leaning towards UCL, London is a far trek away though. Did find a really old thread on here that said good things about Ambition too..

I did mine in the north west with ucl. They have providers all over the place

I’ve just finished the NPQLTD with ambition, delivered through a local teaching school hub. It was a lot more structured than my friend’s provider and it seemed like we got more support and preparation for the assessment than she did, I’m not sure who her provider was though.

I'm doing the NPQLL at the moment. Mine is with Teach First - wouldn't particularly say they were great as their online learning platform is rubbish but I valued having a local network to meet up with over all online or trekking for hours to get to another area.

I’m a facilitator for NPQLL with Ambition via the local TSH (not local to you). I have followed the content with the participants and have found it very good. They use Steplab as their online learning platform which again I have found pretty user-friendly. Overall I’d happily recommend Ambition. I have also heard good things about the Church of England as a provider but I don’t think they offer the LL.

Thanks so much everyone, looks like UCL has a partner in Reading which is fairly local, Ambition sounds solid but no local partners. Hampshire seems to not have many training centres at all? So anyway I’ll put an application into UCL, exciting times!

Good luck!!

Thank you! I’m leading on reading assessment and supporting struggling readers in my school at the moment, which is really successful, but I wasn’t really sure what to do next, I don’t want to be SENCO, I got most of the way through psychology conversion and have decided I don’t want to be an EP, but I do want to build on teaching reading, got an email about this yesterday and it seems a perfect fit for developing skills while pondering my next career move.

I was going to do LL but it'll have to be with TF, so I'm sticking with the one I've already got from UCL!!

@wonderstuff I've just seen on Twitter that the National Literacy Trust and Education Development Trust are launching an NPQLL from the autumn. Might be worth considering.

Have you tried the National Institute of Teaching? They are new but they were previously the School-led network. Might have something in your area www.niot.org.uk
