SENCO roles

I'd love a little help please as I'm struggling a bit.
I'm applying for SENCO roles in different schools but can't even seem to get invited for interview.
I have loads of relevant experience including having been a SENCO before, I am going forward walk arounds then tailoring my personal statement to the school, totally writing each one from scratch and getting people to check my personal statement is good enough
But just nothing....several schools not even giving me a "thanks but no thanks" message just radio silence.

The potential reasons I've come up with are:
I'm 51, top of the salary scale (so expensive) I've been in the same school for 14 years, I was a SENCO before but changed to a different but still relevant role 8 years ago. There's a good reason for this and have still been developing my career in the mean time but it isn't really the sort of thing that goes on a personal statement.

So, which of these do you think would be the deal breaker and does anybody have any good ideas to improve my success rate?

I have a job I actually do like and am fairly settled so it's not desperate but it's beginning to knock my confidence a bit now.

Thanks!

I don't have experience of this, but I wonder if it's due to not having been an SENCo for 8 years? Is the related role pastoral?

I'm sure you're aware, but the landscape in terms of SEND/SEMH has changed a lot in the last 8 years, especially post-Covid- if lots of people with current experience are applying, then it may be harder to secure a role?

Yes could be, I'm still very much working with and teaching SEND and doing a similar job and have only just completed the qualification last year but don't have any sort of TLR to show for it.
Maybe I need to work on showcasing better that I'm doing now.

Keep applying. Be sure to mention all recent and relevant SEND training/CPD attended. Also, focus on: your administrative skills (including diary); how you work with multi-agencies and implement their recommendations; relationships with families and most recent Ofsted report.

That's helpful @TortolaParadise thanks!
Never sure how much detail to go into in the supporting statement so I'm going to break it down a bit more and see how I go.
