Another interview another failure. That's three now.

One more coming up but honestly feel broken and I'm clearly not good enough to teach

Quit. There will be other jobs if not there is supply

namechangedyetagain · 09/05/2023 06:40

I honestly think i have to but I'm scared with nothing to go to and bills to pay.
I put so much into this and I still want to teach.

If you carry on the way you are, there's a real chance you'll give up teaching. It will break you. You need to look after yourself.

TortolaParadise · 09/05/2023 20:15

You still have three weeks. I am rooting for you.

Hand your notice in. After the May deadline, schools will be in a hurry to recruit and you will have more luck. If you are primary, there is more competition.

Hand notice in, keep applying but also sign up for supply just in case.

A quick update, I have 3 applications in and have been invited to 2 interviews this coming week (third job closes on Tuesday)

Really hoping that something comes of it. School has nearly broken me this week.

Have 2 y3 lessons to plan this weekend though including activity with a writing focus (vague)

I think I've decided that my notice is going in anyway after this week. Even if I do supply for a bit. Love the people I work with but there are 3 people out this week on interviews. Along with the 4 that have already resigned . A potential 8 teachers out of 13 leaving in July. It can't just be me

You can do this! I was an earlier commenter on this thread, I ended up going to 8 interviews in the end (4 were this week, with 2 in one day!), rejected from 5 and offered 1 this week, which ended up being my absolute favourite - everybody was lovely and loved how I teach. The other 2 jobs I rang and withdrew from after the interviews as I got the 6th job I went for.
I'm exhausted but elated. I'm finally going to be out of my toxic school!
You can do this, there are a lot of people going for roles at the moment (over 20 for each job I was going for, I discovered), which makes it so hard, but worth carrying on regardless.

Themosthappy89 · 20/05/2023 13:18

Oh p.s., I have the perfect year 3 writing lesson for you if you'd like it!

namechangedyetagain · 20/05/2023 15:06

Well done! There has been over 20 applicants per job for the ones I've been unsuccessful at. Hoping luck will change soon.
The writing lesson would be great thank you! Inbox is open

Well done!

Another update I have been offered a job which I have accepted! I'm free (or will be)

Completely different setting, it will be a small village school. Staff seemed lovely and I felt wanted.

Need to hand in my notice now!
