Would that put you off? or do you think they are just looking for young ones?

It depends what the rest of the advert said, but probably.

I'm not sure it's a red flag as such, but I don't see myself as the "fun" teacher.

Oxterguff · 14/03/2023 20:07

Definitely a red flag. It’s no coincidence that behaviour has deteriorated massively since the recent cohorts of teachers ‘trying to be friends with students’ and ‘high fiving at the door’ bollocks. Kids don’t want us to be their friends. I can only imagine behaviour is an issue in this school!

HubertTheGoat · 14/03/2023 21:02

Primary or secondary? I don't think it would be a particarly unusual thing to see in a primary advert, and largely meaningless to be honest.

HubertTheGoat · 14/03/2023 21:03

Terrible typing there. *Particularly

Enufsaid · 15/03/2023 09:06

Thanks - yes it’s primary. A federation advert and I spotted the word “fun” used twice in the advert.

I’m experienced but I don’t consider myself a “fun” teacher and probably never was!

question is whether it means anything and I suppose the only way to find out is to visit.

Thanks for your replies

I'm not the fun teacher either...it would make me think they are a young staff and are not wanting 'crusties' like me 🤣

good96 · 19/03/2023 19:47

Hmmmm…. Red flag…. unless they want teachers to create a ‘fun’ environment for their pupils to learn.
C&P the advert so that we can analyse it.
