Covid testing

My school are following the government guidance with regard to positive covid tests - i.e. you can return to work in school 5 days after a positive test if well enough, regardless of whether you are still testing positive. Is this normal for all schools or does anyone work at a school with a stricter policy? e.g. you must test negative or have no symptoms.

We can return to work at any point, and are expected to do so before 5 days if well

We are expected to be in work unless too poorly to work regardless of test.

Are you in Wales?
I'm in England and we have been told not to test and to go in unless actually too ill to work, COVID or not.

What infuriates me is the lack of hand washing, staff hugging, uncovered coughing, sneezing into palms then touching surfaces, closed windows.....I could go on and on and on and on but I think you get my drift. This environment is creating and harbouring unwellness.
Five days isolation and return to work as soon as one feels well.

Same here!

I would test if I had symptoms though as I socialise with CEV people.

Is anyone still testing? It’s just treated like any other virus now in our school. Return to school when you’re well enough.

This seems to be the general expectation in my area. Staff absence (Covid specific) however is off the scale; same as it was last year and the year before. It contagious, little point in pretending it isn't.
