SLT resignation dates, are they the same?

Hi all, does anyone know if SLT resignation periods are longer than for teachers?

I have googled and I can see what teacher resignation lengths are for teachers and headteachers, but nothing for senior leadership?

If I hand my notice in on the 28th of February can I leave by the 30th of April?

Any insight or information is appreciated!

It will depend on your contract. If you are employed in a state school under the burgundy book terms and conditions, it will most probably be half a terms notice.

All depends on contract and the role? HTs tend to have to give 2 terms. SLT usually the same as teaching colleagues although in some schools a term is usually the minimum requirement.
I had my AHT leave last year and they gave half a term notice.

I don't think I have signed a contract in about 10 years. We are an academy so not sure if they can make their own rules?

Ask your HR then if you don't have your contract accessible.

This isn’t quite what the burgundy book states. The burgundy book is 28th Feb / 31st May / 31st October, which is half a term if you reign then, but much longer if you miss a deadline.

I’ve never seen anything different for SLT, except for headteachers, which is usually two full terms I think.

It's wording like this that I find on random sites that makes me wonder

Heads usually have a longer notice period.

You will be employed on a certain contract, even if you have not signed anything- "custom and practice" can create a contract. Academies can have their own rules but you should be aware of them.

Ask HR for your contract, and it will have something clear in it about notice dates. As you work for an academy, no-one on here can confirm.
