Strike day pay???

I currently work as support staff in a school but am employed through an agency. I have worked at the same school for 2 years.

Next week on the strike day my school is closed to children but support staff will be in tidying etc. My school has asked me not to come in. As I have not chosen to strike I was wondering as I have been there so long should my agency pay me as I have not chosen to take the day off.

thanks

I'd check with your union and also your agency.

After 12 weeks, you should be entitled to the same conditions as others who work in the school. But 2 years is a long time to be employed in a school via an agency. Is there a reason the school doesn't employ you directly?

Thanks. I have asked my agency and they said they would get back to me. I will phone union tomorrow too. Tbh I actually think I want the day off but just keen to know. School have talked about giving me a contract but seem to be dragging their feet plus they are going through some restructuring atm so don’t think it will happen till that’s sorted if they need me once done.
