Part time teaching - effect on pension?

Hi, just wondering if anyone can confirm my thoughts on this. If a teacher were to go part time, is the percentage that the employer pays in to the pension the same?

I believe it's 20something percent of your salary that the employer pays in, so does that percentage stay the same whether you are full time or part time?

Obviously the percentage is of a lower wage so the pension will take a hit, I understand that.

Anyone know?

It looks to me from the website that it is the same rate, whether you are full or part time. Website says:

Since September 2019, the Employer contribution rate is 23.68%, including the 0.08% administration levy. Employer contributions are based on the pensionable earnings paid to the employee in the pay period.

They contribute the same amount - but only match what you put into your pensions for the days you work - so if you worked 50% over a year - you would get half a years pension. so your service would reflect the additions of half a year.

If you top up your pension by adding in - extra bits - they do not contribute. IYSWIM.

Same percentage but just of the lower (pro-rata) wage.
