How would you handle this?
I gsined a TLR in january for a position that since changed. I've worked really hard on certain aspects and it looks really clear that it should be run as a department (I'm in a sen school.)
The head has agreed that it should be run as a department and wants to be really clear on what that looks like.
I went with a presentation on what I can offer as a head of dept but I don't think it was what he was looking for.
He then said he would get back to me. This was a week ago.
I want to set up a meeting to see where to go next.
I am currently being paid for the TLR (the dream, I know) but with no extra responsibility, I feel like a fraud and there isn't much job satisfaction.
It also means that things are happening within the "department" that I cannot control as I have no authority to do so.
Any tips on what I should do next?
How to handle it etc? I feel so emotional about it but I want to maintain my composure in a professional way.
Thank you for reading.

It sounds a bit all over the place, in terms of you being paid a TLR but not having the role, and the it sounds like the role was not formally advertised.

I'd consider speaking to your union rep and getting the situation clarified BUT obviously you risk losing the TLR. But maybe that would be better as at least then your position would be clear?

@Postapocalypticcowgirl
You're right does sound all over the place. It's hard to be vague, give enough information and still remain anonymous!
I have a teaching position and gained the tlr for an extra responsibility role. The role has sinced changed- grown really. Think leading a key stage as a department.
