Working while Covid positive

We have a few cases amongst teachers. We are working right up until 28th July. We've been told we can now come in with a covid positive and don't have to disclose to our colleagues. Has anyone experienced similar? Seems so irresponsible. Got this guidance because I, the fourth teacher to show symptoms wore a mask as I'm convinced a positive isn't far away. Feel absolutely wretched and have to do sports day afternoon now. Have been treated like I'm overreacting by management in wearing a madk but my partner teacher has MS. I don't want to be cavalier with her health. I shared a room at a wedding with one of the positive teachers at the weekend. Our symptoms are exactly the same but I am one say behind. I am supply so don't get paid if I'm off. Going in is tempting to get the money but it feels like a dick move.

Your school needs reporting. You should still be isolating for 5 days. Parents would be livid if they knew this was happening. What a despicable place to
work. There are vulnerable members of staff and they are still doing this? Disgusting.

I got a positive test amd didn't go in next day. Each morning I've phoned in to confirm I won't be going in, I've been reminded that working with a positive is allowed now if I feel OK.🙄

I'm see this more and more. I think schools are being pressured to treat covid like any other illness: if you can cope being in, you should be in.

I've also heard from a number of teachers that their schools are pushing the narrative that staff should not test at all, unless they are so severely ill that they couldn't be in anyway.

It's a complete contrast to some other sectors. A friend of mine works for the council and his partner recently tested positive. He was told not to come into work for at least a week just as a close contact.

Our policy is isolate for 3 days then go back in so I was in the same boat last month, teaching 100s of different kids and positive. It felt so wrong. I wore a mask too and didn’t move round the room or touch books. Hope you feel ok.

In my school we aren’t allowed back in until we test negative.
