I've seen on the news this morning that the government are reiterating that they've asked ex-teachers to return to schools in the face of the staff shortage crisis. When pressed for numbers they couldn't say exactly but Maggie Throup (vaccines minister) said "It’s a matter of thousands of people who have come forward to say they will play their part"
I'm currently on maternity leave so a bit out of the loop. Is there any truth in this at all or is it like the laptops/CO2 detectors/any number of other things the government has promised but not delivered over the years?
