Hi im just wondering if anyone can give me some help.

I have been offered the chance to train to becone a TA at the school i have just started working at (current smsa). I really want to go for it. School would like me to do the job voluntary until qualified but they will fund the course.

Now my issue is carers allowence, i know i cant study more then 21 hours a week, so anyone know how many hours a week on a average is expected for study. Eventually i will come off carers but until i get paid i cant afford to lose this and the extra help through uc.

You don't actually need an official qualification to work as a T.A (unless it's early years ?) so the school could just take you on paid and "train" you in house ? Volunteering is a great way to gain skills or get a foot in the door.

I believe most t.a courses are only part time though so would be under your 21 hrs anyway

Hi, it is for sen in year 1. They cant pay till i have the qualification due to how the partnership works. Thankyou for confirming the hours
