WFH 3rd Trimester

Just wondering if anyone is planning on requesting to WFH in 3rd Tri?

If so how will you request / explain why you feel this is necessary? Or do you not think this will be needed for you and if so why not (I.e what precautions will you take)?

I'm extremely anxious, cases are surging in my area and my 3rd trimester is imminent.. but my head will likely be less than pleased about me asking.

In fact he doesn't seem to think he has any responsibility to help me distance at all as 'guidance has changed' when I asked questions about helping me distance in CPD.

I have advice from my union who said they will support help if needed but has anyone got any recent experience or worried about the same thing?

TIA xxxxx

Are you vaccinated? Even if it doesnt completely stop people catching Covid, it does reduce the chance if catching it quite a bit, it also massively reduces the likelihood of you getting it severely.

Hi. I am 28 weeks now. No mention of me WFH or a second risk assessment which my midwife said I should be having. I'm becoming increasingly worried about being in school -we've had many cases.

Have any of you got any further?

I'm reluctant to get my union rep involved - the NEU told me that it would be very hard for them to justify keeping me in my current role and they'd be happy to help but I don't dare. I don't want to damage my reputation but at the same time I am quite scared.

Has anyone successfully managed to wfh with union involvement ? X

@Strawberry987 Can you email your line manager and say, further to additional information from my midwife, I would like to make an appointment to review my risk assessment? You could send a link to government guidance for women working in third trimester in the same email to clarify their responsibility to you. I would be shocked if they said no. They would be in breach of employment law/h&s, I think.

What you discuss in that meeting requires careful thought. Eg: masks for children in your lessons if secondary age? Ventilation? Reduced duties/cover?

I was taken off public facing events like in-person parents evenings. I didn't get any further than that and I don't expect you with my school. I also don't feel I want union involved right now.

Good luck!
