Can I email my mentor in the holidays

I’m an nqt and My department said that they were unable to sort out a few things before my training days which I totally understand as they’ve been really busy. He said he wanted to come in during the holidays and sort out the cupboards for the room

Anyway he emailed me last week saying that he would be going in during the holidays so I said I’d also like to come in during the hols to organise any thing outstanding and do planning. I haven’t heard back from him though

When shall I drop him another email to ask when I should go in. I don’t want him to feel he needs to organise things for me. Shall I leave it a week or so as schools have only just broken up?

What things are you missing? Do you have a timetable and the schemes of learning for at least the first couple of weeks?

If so, that's probably all you need for now. Depending on what is missing, it may not be something the mentor can sort so it may need to wait until Sept. My NQT last summer couldn't access some online resources- all I could do was give him my login details until we returned to school as it's an IT issue.

He may get back to you yet -he probably isn't on his emails every day at the moment. Also, he may not have got back if he doesn't know exactly what his plans are. For example, I have a young son so it's tricky for me to give a definite date in the hols as it depends on whether my husband can look after our son.

@PumpkinPie2016 yes of course. He emailed me before saying he’s going in again to sort out some parts of my room as he didn’t get any time before and he’s also going to organise putting back up the laminated policies in my room and tidy cupboards and also do displays in there. I feel bad not offering or asking. I don’t want him to think I’m not taking any pride or offering to helpHalo

I never mind receiving emails during the holidays as long as the sender doesn’t expect an immediate reply.

I've checked my work email twice (the second time because I'd been alerted to something)
I'm happy to be contacted but I won't be checking regularly.

I'm on my emails sporadically over any holiday but as Physicscat said my responses are never as fast as during term time.

Hi Mrs Hamlet. That’s fine it’s not an urgent email or anything like that. I haven’t been checking my emails either so I know he won’t. It’s a follow up email to his as I dont want him to think he needs to sort everything for me or that I’m being lazy and not offering to help organise things for next term.
