Interview - help!!

The last teaching interview I had was probably 12 years ago, pre children. I now have an interview for a KS1/2 PPA role looming and I am bricking it. Has anyone had an interview recently? If so, can you give me some pointers about the questions asked?? I don't know where to start with my interview prep! And if there is an interviewer out there even better, what should I be able to talk about confidently? Any help would be massively appreciated!

Twinkl have a really good list of interview style questions which have helped me a lot. Good luck! I have one next week too. 😬😬

Expect questions about working with others, as this will be key in a PPA role.
Characteristics of a good lesson.
A time when a lesson didn’t you well and what you would do differently.
Knowledge of assessment at both KS.
Safeguarding question.
Why do you want to work at the school.

Give an example of something you have done, along with the impact, for every answer.

Good luck!

@Mudandrain Oh thanks, great resource! Good luck with yours!

@user1471539385 Great, thanks. Funnily enough it's assessment that worries me. Are there any buzz words/ particular approaches currently? Or is it just about an over view ie summative vs formative??

Formative and summative, but also remembering there are SATs in both Key Stages, and these are important for the school. Think about the purpose of assessment. As PPA cover, a lot of your assessment will be to inform future planning and also to feed back to the class teacher.

Your interview lesson needs AfL that you can reflect on in the panel interview. There is lots of focus on assessment of retrieval of learning currently. Ideally have some retrieval practice in your lesson. Not a ‘test’ as such, just an opportunity for you to see (and show) what the children have retained of what you taught them.
